It's been quite a while since I've posted. Been busy working on a couple of projects.
We finished a film called Mr. Popper's Penguins with Jim Carrey, which opened on June 18.
It was a great project, a different style of animation I hadn't done before, so It was a great learning experience. All the work we did ended up looking amazing and it has gotten great reviews.

Congrats to everyone at R&H who worked on this show!

After 8 months of hard work we finished the film and it's looking fantastic!! I'm extremely proud of working with such a talented group of people, and the work we accomplished.

A tribute to Dad

To celebrate my Dad's life, and as a tribute to him for his constant support and love I wanted to share my short film.
This project represents all that I learned from him, the passion and perfection he had for his work, and the love and care he felt for his family and friends. My Dad and Mom have been extremely supportive through out my career in animation, and for that I'm really thankful.

I love and you and I'm gonna miss you a Lot!

Got the job at R&H !!!

So after a month of hard work and training I was hired to work for Rhythm & Hues Studios!!!
And what's even better is that all 14 apprentices got hired to work on Rhythm's next film Hop.

The apprentice program was incredible, everyone at Rhythm was very kind and supportive through out the four weeks. During the program we were taught how to work in the studio's pipeline, and how to use their software and proprietary tools through a series of exercises and simulated production scenarios.

Dan Segarra, Me

Each apprentice was a assigned a mentor for the whole program. I was extremely lucky to get Dan Segarra as my mentor!!! I've been following his work for a long time, he's film Sheep is one of AnimationMentor's most memorable shortfilms in my opinion. Dan was super helpful during the program, not only he's really talented but also a Great guy!! Thank you so much!

Now off to work on my first feature film!!!

I'm Happy to announce that I've been accepted into the Animation Apprentice Program at Rhytm and Hues!!!!!
I'm heading to LA to start the program on June 21st. It's been a long way but it finally payed off, and I couldn't think of a better place.

Reel Update

I decided to add some new shots to my reel that i did recently and liked how they turned out.
The first one is from the 11 Second Club March 2010 competition called "On the team". I was working on other projects so I couldn't finish this one, but I blocked as many poses as I could...its mostly on 2's and some holds on 3's...
The other shot is Rusty which I had posted before.

I just finished my AnimationMentor graduate film : "Go To Sleep"

I wrote the story and animated both characters.The lighting and compositing was done by True3D studios, and the sound design was done by TutStudio.
Now its off to festivals!!!
